• MR. BARTOLOTTI AWARDED BY ERNST & YOUNG IN MILAN AT THE STOCK EXCHANGE HALL

The jury of the Businessman of the Year 2013 Award, led by Emma Marcegaglia, accredited  a Special Award to  Mr. Silvio Bartolotti, Micoperi’s Managing Director as “he, in a tragic circumstance – such as the Costa Concordia incident  – gave international recognition to the name of  Italian distinction  in support of his Country”.The award ceremony (powered by Ernst & Young with prestigious partners like Milano stock exchange and BNL – Bnp Paribas), took place yesterday evening in Piazza Affari, Milan. Mr. Bartolotti was awarded just before Mr. Fulvio Montipò from Interpump, the Businessman of the Year 2013,.

Micoperi core business ranges from the construction and installation of rigs and platforms to the laying of pipelines  in shallow and deep waters. “In the Spring I welcomed the Ernst & Young experts  – says Mr. Bartolotti – well before the removal of the Costa Concordia drew so much attention on my company. E&Y were flabbergasted by the strong positive trend that Micoperi showed in recent years. From 2010, the annual turnover increased from 70 to 500 million euros, the number of employees from 300 to 1000. We work in Italy, Mexico, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Egypt. Nowadays, our best results growth-wise are mainly abroad as in Italy it is not possible to extract hydrocarbons within 12 miles from the shoreline, as stipulated by the Italian regulations.” The subsidiary company in Mexico is going to become the Micoperi business hub for the South American area. Micoperi is also developing its offices in Ortona where they established a research centre for the construction of a 15 megawatt wind turbine.
“It was possible to develop our offices in Ortona thanks to the authorities’ attention to the companies’ needs and to the employment request. This does not mean that our efforts in Ravenna are scaling down, even though I wish there were  better opportunities to support investors and job seekers. In Ravenna, besides its industrial commitment, Micoperi decided to significantly support a school, San Vincenzo De’ Paoli, in order to grant an up-to-date tuition to children from 2 to 21 years of age. Micoperi’s President is Mr. Andrea Monorchio. Mr. Bartolotti’s sons, Fabio -31- and Claudio- 36- work within the company as purchase manager and commercial manager  respectively Mr. Bartolotti was asked  the secret of his success. “It is a simple recipe – Mr. Bartolotti replied – you need to combine two ingredients: Determination and Love. Determination of your team to pursue a stimulating goal and Love for the company you work for, the collaborators, clients, suppliers and for all that you conceive and attain together.
